Opportunity Seeker Bart Grows: at CSE and Beyond

Bart Vogels knows how to seize opportunities. At our warehouse in Weert, he made the move from the service desk to a role as logistics administrative officer. And outside of working hours, he continues to develop himself as well: Bart is active as a football assistant referee and has ambitions to grow further in that field.

Let’s start at CSE, Bart. What’s different in your new role?
“As a service desk employee, I was mainly focused on helping drivers. Now I’m much more involved in managing the process, making sure the right pallets are in the right place at the right time. This starts as soon as one of our clients calls off a specific volume of cans. I have more responsibilities now, and I really enjoy that.”

How were you able to take this step?
“At CSE, if you want to achieve something, opportunities are created. In my case, we looked together at how I wanted to develop and what tools I needed to do so. I also received a lot of professional guidance. When my predecessor left, I was able to move into the role. It helped that, as a service desk employee, I had already become familiar with many aspects of this position.”

What does this change require from you?
“Above all, I need to continue getting to know our logistics system better and truly understand how everything works at CSE. Why do we do things the way we do, who exactly are our clients, and how can we support them in the best possible way? That’s how I can fulfill my most important task: maintaining oversight.”

“At CSE, if you want to achieve something, opportunities are created.”

What would you still like to learn?
“A lot! My first goals are to work more independently and switch gears more quickly. No, I’m not thinking about the next step yet. But if I can take on additional responsibilities over time, I’d really enjoy that. I’m always open to opportunities.”

Just like in football?
“Exactly! Through a friend, I started as an assistant referee with a youth team. I did that because I want to continue developing myself within football. Just like at work, it’s about improving step by step. For now, I mainly enjoy supporting young talents and the game itself.”
