“I owe this job to my mindset”

At CSE, we love to go full throttle. We look ahead, stay flexible, and roll up our sleeves. That’s exactly why administrator and all-rounder Remko Boyen is such a great fit here. Five questions, five answers.

Remko, where does your nickname ‘all-rounder’ come from?
“Three years ago, I started as a forklift driver. About a year and a half in, things got busier, and I went wherever I was needed most. The shifts changed constantly—morning, afternoon, or night—it didn’t matter to me.”

Was that part of your job?
“Not officially. For me, it was a simple case of give and take. I believe that if I treat my employer well, I’ll get something in return someday. I also did it for my colleagues and work friends. If I can help someone by jumping on the forklift, I’m in.”

And what did it bring you personally?
“These days, I no longer work rotating shifts. I now work as an administrator during the day, which brings more peace of mind. I owe this role to my attitude. In fact, the job was created together with me. That shows how CSE rewards hard work and the right motivation.”

“I felt needed: like Cristiano Ronaldo coming on in the final minutes”

And going full throttle is just fun, right?
“Absolutely. Especially when it makes a difference. I felt needed: like Cristiano Ronaldo coming on in the final minutes of a match. I still hop on the forklift sometimes on Saturdays. If there’s really no other option? They can throw me back and forth between sites and shifts. My motivation hasn’t changed.”

And then straight back to administration?
“Yeah, I’m perfectly happy here. These days I get my satisfaction from helping truck drivers and making sure everything runs smoothly. Oh, and I still love to go full throttle—but now I do it more from behind the desk.”
